Move over Mackintosh and Webber there’s a new kid on the block!
I had the pleasure of seeing Steve Steinman’s new musical Eternal Love at the Hull New Theatre on Friday 24th January. I’m no stranger to Steinman’s productions but this is by far his biggest project to date. Introducing an all-original soundtrack and book written by Steinman.
A real rock musical with real rock singers was a breath of fresh air, with so many juke box musicals making their way around the theatre circuit. Surely the West End beckons for this truly great, fun new show.
It has it all, amazing songs, powerful performances, comedy, witty satire and drama all played throughout the show. Yes, the story is frivolous in parts, but it has charm, and the audience lapped it up. It’s no Phantom or Le Mis, nor does it try to be but equally as professional and staged…

Last night at Hull New Theatre I had the absolute pleasure of seeing the world premiere of Steve Steinman’s Vampires Rock, Eternal Love the Musical, and what a treat it was! I’ve not seen any of the other shows that they have done and didn’t quite know what to expect but what I watched was brilliant. Steve is an excellent songwriter, these were all original songs from two of his albums, and as a fan of rock music I really enjoyed listening to them. The songs helped the story move along and they fitted the storyline really well…

This critic is old enough to remember Steve Steinman’s iconic portrayal of the late, great Meatloaf on ITV’s Stars in their Eyes way back in 1993. This catapulted him in to instant stardom as he moved on tobigger and better things. Steinman has created quite a following. The queue from the merch stand this evening was testament to his popularity and his shows are clearly still engaging a large cult fan base in what was a packed out auditorium…

On the Saturday 22nd March, 2025, my boyfriend Aaron treated me to an early birthday present, a ticket to Steve Steinman’s ‘Vampires Rock: Eternal Love’, at Cast Theatre, Doncaster. There was me, Aaron and our friend Lou. It was absolutely amazing!…

There’s nobody quite like Steve Steinman. For over two decades, he has travelled the UK (and beyond), acting as a sort of advocate for rock music. Whether he is touring one of his numerous rock tribute shows (either specific to Meatloaf or more general content), or releasing his own original rock albums that regularly top the Rock Charts on Amazon and iTunes, he’s a busy man who has built up an enviable fan base…

Steve Steinman knows how to rock. He’s had stars in his eyes for more than thirty years after performing as Meat Loaf on the popular talent show. Steve went on to create, produce and perform in many rock musicals, including Anything For Love – The Meat Loaf Story.
And now he’s back!…

It is difficult to know where to start with the experience that was Eternal Love at Darlington Hippodrome last evening. There is a quote on the front of the beautifully glossy official brochure which announces the show to be Fantastic, sexy and very funny’ but I feel that it misses out the more glaringly obvious ‘wacky, zany and utterly bonkers…
